Angela Azorin

My name is Ángela Guadalupe Castillo Azorín, and I am honored to share a little about myself in this essay. Receiving this scholarship would mean immense gratitude for the invaluable support it would provide toward my education, as my financial resources are limited.

Currently, I am pursuing a degree in hospitality in high school because of my passion for gastronomy. Through this program, I have learned not only about cooking but also about hotel management, event planning, and restaurant operations. Each semester introduces me to new skills and knowledge about these fields, which I find incredibly fulfilling. Although I am still learning and growing, this program has helped me better understand the dedication and effort required in the hospitality industry.

After high school, I aspire to continue my education at the university level, focusing on accounting. My dream is to complete my studies, graduate, and work for a local company where I can support my family, particularly my mother, who has been my greatest supporter and role model. Her sacrifices motivate me to work hard and achieve a brighter future.

Throughout my life, I have been inspired by many individuals, including my teachers, who have guided me with patience and dedication, and the school psychologist, who has offered me invaluable encouragement. My family’s unwavering support has also been a constant source of strength. Living in my area presents unique challenges, such as limited access to public transportation and essential services like hospitals and affordable supermarkets. These circumstances have shaped my resilience and determination to overcome obstacles.

Although I have limited work experience, I had the opportunity to work during a vacation, washing dishes. This experience taught me the value of hard work and responsibility. I am confident that the discipline I have developed will help me thrive in university, even as I face new challenges and responsibilities.

Beyond academics, I have a variety of interests and hobbies that enrich my life. I enjoy reading books across genres such as fantasy, romance, and romantic comedies. I also study Italian independently, draw, paint, and play the acoustic guitar. Additionally, I have written my own novel and have a passion for photography. These creative pursuits have helped me develop focus and perseverance, qualities I believe will also serve me well in my academic journey.

My ultimate inspiration is the dream of providing my mother with the life she deserves. By pursuing higher education and working hard, I aim to create a better future for both of us.

Two teachers who have significantly impacted me during high school are Professor Sebastián and Maestro Erubuey. Their teaching styles, though different, were both engaging and supportive. They fostered an environment of mutual understanding and growth, making learning a meaningful experience for me.

The primary challenge I face in pursuing a university education is the cost. However, I am determined to overcome this obstacle with the help of this scholarship. My passion for learning and my unwavering commitment to achieving my goals drive me to work hard every day.
